The Rebirth of a Retail Landmark.
Inwood Village, constructed by the Caruth Family of Dallas in 1948, had seen better days by 2003. Having gone through several renovations and ownership over the years, it had nevertheless fallen into a decided lack of luster with the affluent and demanding customer base around it. While it was still a cornerstone of the Inwood and Lovers trade area, occupancy had fallen to 82%.
L&B Realty purchased the landmark asset in late 2003 and hired UCR. After consulting with ownership and formulating a strategic plan, UCR led efforts for the landlord to physically upgrade the center, and then set about targeting specific retailers and restaurants that could bring the property back up to its full potential.
Today, Inwood Village is thriving, with new and established tenants alike contributing to occupancy over 96%. These include the iconic Inwood Theater, Horchow Finale, francesca’s, White House | Black Market, Children’s Place, Gap, Gap Kids, Loft, Harold’s, Collector’s Covey, Rich Hippie, and award-winning restaurants Bijoux, Rise No.1, and Bread Winners Café & Bakery.
